ATLANTA, GA (3/11/2020) — Two women, two children, and a teenager died in a head-on car accident with a city bus on Wednesday night in Atlanta. The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on Bolton Road.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, a 2010 Nissan Sentra was traveling north with seven occupants on Bolton Road.

The 28-year-old driver reportedly lost control of the Nissan and crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic. The Nissan was then hit on the driver’s side by a Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) bus traveling south on the road.

Two women in their 20s, an 18-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a 19-month-old lost their lives in the accident.

The driver of the Nissan and a 12-year-old passenger were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The MARTA bus driver was also taken to Grady with non-life threatening injuries, and the two passengers on the bus were not injured in the accident.

The Atlanta Police Department’s Accident Investigations Unit is still investigating the accident and suspect speed to be a factor in the crash. The victims have not yet been identified to the public.
