MARIETTA, GA (4/15/2020) – A man from Cartersville died Tuesday afternoon when he crashed his motorcycle on I-75 South. The accident occurred just before 6:00 p.m. at the Gresham Road overpass.
The Marietta Police Department says that 63-year-old Dennis Wolk was driving his 2017 Harley Davidson Electra Glide south on I-75 in the second lane from the left.
Wolk was following a 2017 Peterbilt box truck driven by 49-year-old Bennie Demps when southbound traffic slowed down due to an accident further down the interstate. For unknown reasons, Wolk didn’t stop or slow down and ran into the back of Demps’ truck.
Wolk was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Demps didn’t suffer any injuries in the crash and officers don’t expect him to be charged. Investigators are currently looking for witnesses to the accident or information related to the crash.
