FOREST PARK, GA (2/7/2020) – Three people were confirmed dead after a three-vehicle crash that happened on Friday evening. A 13-month-old baby survived the accident and was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston Hospital with minor injuries.
According to the Forest Park Police, the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Forest Parkway and Lake Drive, close to Forest Park City Hall and Starr Park.
Responding officers reported that two people died at the scene of the crash, and one person died in the hospital following the crash.
Georgia State Patrol stated that a Chevy Corvette was traveling east on Forest Parkway when it crossed the median and hit a Ford Fiesta. Christina Carbajal, 44, Miguel Hernandez, 63, and the 13-month-old baby were all occupants of the Ford Fiesta. After the first crash, the Corvette hit a Ford Expedition, which was also in the westbound lane.
Carbajal and Hernandez died at the scene, and the driver of the Corvette, 54-year-old Jesse Williams, was ejected from his car and also died.
The driver of the Ford Expedition and the 13-month old baby both sustained minor injuries.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined and is currently being investigated by authorities.
