CRAWFORD COUNTY, GA (2/25/2020) — One person was pronounced dead after an accident in Crawford County on Tuesday. The accident occurred on Georgia 22 at Billy White Road around 6:22 a.m.
According to Georgia State Patrol, a tractor-trailer and passenger car were involved in the crash, which happened at the intersection. The driver of the passenger car, Justin Taunton, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon to be treated for minor injuries.
All lanes of the intersection were blocked for a few hours while Georgia State Patrol and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident and cleaned up the damage. The lanes reopened around 10:00 a.m. the same day.
The investigation of the cause of the crash is currently ongoing. The driver of the tractor-trailer has not yet been identified to the public.
