Motorcyclist And Driver Involved In Fatal Cobb County Crash Identified

COBB COUNTY, GA (3/7/2020) — Cobb County Police have identified a motorcyclist and driver who were involved in a fatal accident on Saturday afternoon in Cobb County.

According to authorities, the accident occurred near Barrett Parkway and Rocky Ridge Road around 3:20 p.m.

Cobb County Police spokesperson Wayne Delk stated that a 2016 BMW S1000 motorcycle was driving north on Barrett Parkway when it hit a Toyota Avalon turning south onto Rocky Ridge Road. 

The motorcyclist, John Franklin White, 43, was taken to Kennestone Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The Toyota driver, Clintina Mitchell, 57, was not injured in the accident.

The department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Team (STEP) Unit is currently investigating the accident, and no charges are pending yet. Anyone who has any information about this accident is asked to call investigators at 770-499-3987.
