SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, GA (2/27/2020) — Three people involved in a fatal accident were identified on Friday by Union City police. The single-car crash happened Thursday morning around 4:00 a.m.

According to Georgia State Patrol, a 2015 Kia Optima was driving east on South Fulton Parkway when it crossed the median of the road and hit several trees. After the impact of the crash, the Kia rotated, and the vehicle was split in half.

The driver, Julius Antwan Vickers, 24, and his passenger Kemoni Lavarous Watts, 25, were both ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Antwan’s sister, 33-year-old Cherina Denise Vickers, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Authorities closed the roadway at Stonewall Tell Road for over six hours to clean up the accident, causing about a mile backup of traffic.

GSP is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
