Marietta, GA (8/25/2020) — Three people died on Tuesday morning when their car was struck by a tractor-trailer on I-75.
The 2009 Nissan Rogue was stopped in the center northbound lane on I-75. The tractor-trailer crashed into the Rogue at 5:42 AM, sending the car onto the interstate’s right shoulder.
Marietta police arrived at the accident scene, just north of Marietta Parkway, around 6:00 AM. The three individuals inside the Rogue were pronounced dead on the scene. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured, according to the police.
It is unclear why the Rogue was stopped in the center lane of the highway. Police have identified all three individuals inside the vehicle, but their names will not be released until authorities notify their families.
